Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About the IRD Scheme
Quick answers to the most common questions regarding Nepal's Taxpayer Incentive Reward Programme.
We have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions regarding the IRD Billing Prize Scheme to help you navigate the process effortlessly.
Do I have to pay to enter the draw?
No. Participation is completely free. The only requirement is that you make a legitimate purchase over Rs 100 and receive an official electronic PAN/VAT invoice.
Can foreign nationals participate?
The scheme is primarily targeted at Nepali consumers. While anyone making a purchase generates a bill, claiming the prize requires official identification. Non-citizens should consult the IRD directly regarding their specific eligibility.
What happens if I lose my original bill?
Unfortunately, if you lose the original physical invoice (or the verified digital equivalent), you cannot claim the prize, even if your number is drawn. The physical bill is mandatory proof for claiming your prize. Keep them safe until the draw for that fortnight is completed!
Are hospital or education bills eligible?
Currently, the scheme focuses heavily on retail goods, dining, and general consumer services. Certain sectors, including some professional services and transport, might be excluded. Always check the latest updates from the IRD for sector-specific inclusions.
Is this website the official IRD portal?
No. This website (prize-ird-gov-np.online) is strictly an independent informational guide. The official government portal for registrations and announcements is prize.ird.gov.np.
